Trauma therapist · Psychedelic preparation and integration
In short: I offer preparation and integration sessions rooted in the body and the nervous system, and trauma therapy when you need to go deeper. Sessions take place in Copenhagen or online, in English or Danish. Your first 30-minute session is free, with no obligation.
Two things shape my work: many years of holding space for others, and my own path, which has taught me that thoughts come and go, but the body remembers.
My path
Yoga and meditation have been my anchor for more than twenty years. While I was studying at Copenhagen Business School, I lived in an ashram. Later I moved to Malaysia, where my sister and I built a company together. I gave it everything I had, until there was nothing left to give.
I burned out. And then I was diagnosed with melanoma cancer.
That was my wake-up call. My body was telling me to stop in a way I couldn't ignore, and I had to ask myself how I really wanted to live.
The answer took me to India and Bali, back to the roots of yoga. In 2016 I became pregnant with my daughter, and I walked away from start-up life. I chose what had held me up all along: practice, the body and presence. I trained as a yoga teacher, a doula, then as a sound therapist, and later as a trauma therapist. Along the way I have lived in Canada, the US and Costa Rica, and studied with the Shipibo people in Peru.
Since 2015 I have held space for people one-to-one, in groups, in workshops and on retreats. More than a thousand of them by now. They have taught me that the body moves at its own pace, and that change can't be forced.
My approach
From trying to make sense of yourself in your mind to feeling what is actually going on inside your body.
Most of us might have an understanding of why we react the way we do. And yet we keep doing it.
So I start somewhere else. What are you feeling? What is happening in your body? What does this situation do to you?
My approach is trauma-informed. I work with the nervous system and with parts work: the different parts of us that react in different ways, often for good reasons. Breathwork and stillness are part of it. When we listen to the body, we can reach an understanding that thinking alone can't get to.
It isn't my job to tell you who you are. My job is to offer a safe space where you can explore that for yourself, at your own pace.
I don't believe there is anything wrong with you, or that you need fixing. Your nervous system has responded the way it had to, given what you have lived through. What is in you doesn't need to be repaired. It needs to be discovered, felt and given room, just as it is. I believe that, at our core, we are already whole, even when it doesn't feel that way.
Psychedelic preparation and integration
A psychedelic experience can stir up a lot, in the body too.
Preparation is about getting to know your own signals. What does safety feel like for you? What happens when things get too overwhelming? What can you lean on? And is this right for you at all?
Integration is about making room for whatever came up, including what is still held in the body, and finding ways for it to become part of your everyday life. Some people come away with a sense of calm and a fresh perspective. Others are left feeling unsettled, or carrying something they can't quite put into words. Both are welcome here, and you don't have to justify your choices.
Over the past six years I have held introductory and integration sessions with several hundred people, in groups and one-to-one. Many also come to me for trauma therapy after a psychedelic experience they are struggling to make peace with. When integration calls for more, we go deeper into the body and the emotions: what is this doing to you? Other therapists also turn to me for advice when their clients have had difficult experiences, and some refer clients to me.
In the introductory session we also talk about risks, such as medication, your health and any past mental health issues. Questions about medication and health always belong with your doctor, and I encourage you to talk to them. You can read more on our page about contraindications (in Danish). Psychedelic experiences are not necessarily a shortcut, and they are not for everyone. I receive regular supervision, and when someone needs more than I can offer, I help them find the right help.
How it works
- Free introductory session (30 min): We explore what you need and whether we are the right fit.
- Preparation sessions: We talk through your thoughts, questions and expectations, your signals and resources, and the risks involved.
- Integration sessions: We make room for what came up, in words and in the body.
- Trauma therapy: When you need to go deeper, we continue with trauma-informed therapy.
My hope is that you come closer to yourself. Not only through your story, but through the way it lives in you today.
